Mindful Journey Center is a place for individuals struggling with drug use or other addictions. For them the biggest and hardest step to recovery is the very first step: determination to make a change. In this process it is normal to have mixed feelings about giving up the addictive behavior, even after realizing that the behavior is causing many problems in their life. We are here to meet them in any stage of their recovery. We walk with them each step of their recovery journey. We understand that the change to a sober life and free from addictive behaviors is not easy. Many changes that the individual may need to make include:
- Learn and practice new ways to deal with stress
- Change people, places, things and thinking pattern
- Find new ways to spend their free time, like new hobbies and pleasure activities
- Change how they think about themselves including working on their self-esteem, how they related to others and in most case resolve past traumatic events and upsetting incidents.
When an individual experience any relapse, take time to assess his/her reactions so that he or she can evaluate his/her feelings and behaviors. This will help him/her to appropriately intervene in the relapse cycle earlier and earlier. The results will be decreased setbacks and stronger progress and stabilization.
Recovering from any addictive behavior is a long process, one that requires time, commitment, motivation, and support. Mindful Journey Center is a safe and calm place with Certified Addiction Professionals and Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) certified facilitators that help individuals to address the root cause of the addiction. TIR has a complete protocol to resolve addictive behaviors.
